BIG. FREE. 18. UP.

I've been seeing this ad around FB for quite a while now and it got me curious... what is Smart trying to pull here? Why 18 and up?

I checked out their FB page and apparently they'll unveil it on the 30th. I wonder what it'll be... These might be far-out guesses but could it be mobile porn? Celebrity sex scandals on Sandbox? What do you think?

It's just so odd for a major telco to focus on just 18 years old and up.  If anyone of you is in the know (or perhaps know someone who is), do let me in on this BIG and FREE secret.

A quote from one of my favorite novels

Her life was a slow realization that the world was not for her and that for whatever reason she would never be happy and honest at the same time. She felt as if she were brimming always producing and hoarding more love inside her. But there was no release. table ivory elephant charm rainbow onion hairdo violence melodrama honey…None of it moved her. She addressed the world honestly searching for something deserving of the volumes of love she knew she had within her but to each she would have to say I don’t love you.

The Best parts of Lonely

Memory will rust and erode into lists of all that you gave me:
a blanket, some matches, this pain in my chest,
the best parts of Lonely, duct-tape and soldered wires,
new words for old desires,
and every birthday card I threw away.

Planet 51

Last November 16, I had the opportunity to preview Planet 51 thanks to Zed. It’s an animated film about this astronaut, Captain Chuck Baker, who lands on Planet 51 thinking he’s the first to set foot in it. Funny, because all the while he was claiming the land in the name of USA (complete with the flag and all), a family of green little people watch him in complete horror. And it’s not like these creatures are barbaric brutes. Oh no sir, they aren’t! They are pretty much civilized as your next of kin. And now, they begin to think Captain Chuck is an alien invader out to destroy them!

Truth be told, I’m not a big fan of aliens, green ugly creatures, and the like so I wasn’t too keen on seeing it. (Yes, I wasn’t a fan of Shrek either.) But I gave it a shot and it turned out to be an enjoyable surprise. If you have kids or if you have a kid brother or sister, you should bring them to watch this movie. Catch it as it hit Philippine screens on Wednesday, December 2!

Oh, and if you’re into online gaming, you can also enjoy the free-to-play movie game which you may download here. Gamers who are also SMART subscribers may buy virtual in-game money via SMS. While free gaming codes will be given to selected SMART bro users in order for them to get free virtual tokens. All in all, these provide great opportunities to extend the movie experience and be in the shoes of your favorite movie character!
